Fill Our Cups

It has been quite the semester, year really. I will do a reflection soon, but I’m just going to write a psalm for the time being.

——-
This one’s dedicated to you, Jesus – in honor of you always showing up.

To Kerrington, Kyra and Jasmine – for answering the call.

——-

We call

You show up

You pour out

We sin

You show up

You pour out

We run

You show up

You pour out

We hide

You show up

You pour out

You show up. Not once have you abandoned me.

I am in love with your persistence

You know everything about me

Every inch of my sin

Every inch of my humanity,

yet you stay

Not only do you stay,

but you pursue

A love so reckless

So true

4 months ago, I trembled

3 months ago, I cried

2 months, I feared

1 month ago, I sunk

Today, I am full.

“you will graduate”

Those words seemed so distant behind the

Trembling, crying, fear, and sinking

Yet you made the impossible, possible

effortlessly

You were here through it all

The highs and lows

Continuing to pour out as I doubted

Pouring out as a feared

Pouring out as a cried

Loving me so much that you allowed me to believe —

Believe that me “letting you in” was me pouring into you

That me “allowing you to love me” was me pouring into you

That me simply being your daughter, was me pouring into you

Such a selfless Father

A good good father

Selah.

I pray that you allow the Lord to pour into you — that whatever your story is, you will not let it define you. Allow God’s love for you to define you. Allow His redemption to define you. Love Is God. I pray that you experience this love in a way that is inexplicable and beyond human understanding.

I pray that you allow God to fill your cup and fill His — it sounds crazy, but yes. He is the type of father that wants you to understand that He values your love. He doesn’t need it, but He loves it. He loves you.

I love you

To my friends and sisters, thank you for helping me open my eyes to the love and mystery of the Kingdom. May God bless you abundantly and purely.

Peace + Love
